The state’s Department of Public Health (DPH) identified sites throughout Connecticut to open and operate as COVID-19 positive facilities to assist local hospitals and neighboring post-acute care facilities, cohort SARS-CoV-2 infectious citizens and accelerate their recovery and recuperation.
Waveny LifeCare Network was contracted through the state’s Attorney General’s office to develop and operate the closed Ambulatory Unit at Silver Hill Hospital for this purpose. It has always been Waveny’s mission touse its healthcare expertise to help those in need to recuperate and assist in their recovery. Given the recent reduction in COVID related hospital admissions, the state’s AG’s office has requested and Waveny has accepted closing this unit.
“Many are forecasting a second wave and Waveny will continueto work with both the DPH and our local hospitals should this occur,” said Russell R. Barksdale, Jr., president & CEO “Waveny is so very thankful for our elected representatives’ commitment to their constituents, our community, and Waveny’s professional healthcare workers for answering the call.”
