Waveny LifeCare Network COVID-19 Daily Update
for Residents, Patients, and Families

The health, safety and peace of mind of our residents, patients and families remains our top priority. We continue to take the most precautionary care measures possible across the Waveny LifeCare Network for the continued wellness and recovery of our clients.  We greatly appreciate your ongoing feedback, understanding and support.

Aggregate data can be found at: https://www.waveny.org/daily-statistics

The Village
There were no changes among Village residents’ status or conditions.

Care Center
One Care Center patient was discharged to the hospital last night, subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 and is resting comfortably there.

One direct care employee received a positive test result and is currently in remote recovery. We have welcomed a total of four employees who are now cleared to return to work after previously testing positive for the virus.

As mentioned, all employees are subject to ongoing daily screening and preventive measures, including screening staff prior to each shift, sending any employee home to await test results if they show symptoms of illness. The use of Personal Protective Equipment by all at the Village, Care Center, Inn and Home Care staff continues to be mandatory while at work.

Professional restoration services company Servpro is continuing its thorough cleaning of the Care Center today after completing the Village. Going forward, they will do so on a weekly basis.

The Inn
The Inn continues to have no positive cases of COVID-19.

Waveny Home Care
No changes to report for our Waveny Home Care division. They continue to provide support to our community residents in their homes in a safe, preventive manner including their use of PPE.

Note: Regarding COVID -19 testing of residents and patients, we follow the CDC’s explicit criteria to qualify an individual for testing, including: (1) physical symptoms of COVID-19; (2) recent travel to areas of an outbreak; and (3) direct contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.  Given this, we do not randomly test our patients and residents.

Below is Today’s Daily Update, which reflects only the changes from yesterday’s information as it relates to the COVID-19 virus and Waveny’s patients, residents, and caregiver status.
