Waveny LifeCare Network COVID-19 Daily Update
for Residents, Patients, and Families

Our hearts and thoughts are with those across our community impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, especially those whose loved ones are fighting the illness. Foremost, we continue to diligently apply the most qualified clinical prevention and care measures to protect our patients’ and residents’ safety.

Though our community is experiencing a time of greater isolation, we want to warmly thank you for your demonstrations of support and encouragement, all of which promote our greater interconnectedness.  These outpourings include thoughtful, creative videos, photos, cards & notes, donations, volunteer activities and acknowledgements. Your efforts and engagement have brightened the spirit of our patients, residents and staff and enriched our community.

Aggregate data can be found at: waveny.org/daily-statistics

The Village
Those residents who had previously tested positive and remain in our Memory Care unit, continue to rest comfortably without symptoms.

Care Center
We previously reported that a Care Center resident who was hospitalized and most sadly passed away, did so due to what we assumed would be a positive COVID -19 diagnosis. Confirmed test results actually came back negative, attributing the cause of death to co-morbidities other than the virus. Nonetheless our deepest condolences and prayers are with their family during this unimaginably difficult time.

The Inn
The Inn continues to have no positive cases of COVID-19.

Waveny Home Care
There are no changes to report related to Home Care division clients.

Below is Today’s Daily Update, which reflects only the changes from yesterday’s information as it relates to the COVID-19 virus and Waveny’s patients, residents, and caregiver status.

Throughout the weekend, please continue to keep each other and our community in your thoughts and prayers, and know that each and every day, we are working as diligently as possible to earn your continued patience and support, which we greatly appreciate.

Your nursing supervisor will have specific medical details on your family member. Please continue to reach out to them on clinical issues and to me on non-clinical issues. We will continue to provide consistent written communications during this pandemic, and honor your ongoing engagement and understanding.
