To Our Family Members of the Waveny LifeCare Network Village, Care Center and Inn:

For over 45 years, Waveny has understood the importance of providing timely and transparent communications to our families, patients, residents, and staff, while simultaneously protecting the privacy of patient specific information.

Today is no different, although during this unprecedented healthcare crisis information has been evolving at a rapid pace. Please know that our leadership team has been focused on the safety and health of our residents, patients and staff, while doing our best to remain transparent and responsive as possible. We greatly appreciate your understanding that communications from healthcare providers and clinical partners are updated constantly.

To that end, Waveny LifeCare will be providing you with communication updates on a daily basis. Here are the latest updates on Waveny's patient and resident status related to the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Waveny Village: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases for the Village is 11. Five residents are currently hospitalized; two residents are recovering in the Village; two nurses are recovering at home; and two of our residents sadly succumbed to the virus at a local hospital. All of our residents remain in isolation and are cared for in their individual rooms.
  • Waveny Care Center: There have been two positive cases originating from the Care Center. One patient was hospitalized this past week and regrettably passed away. One nurse is awaiting test results and is remaining at home. We are awaiting test results on two of our patients, who are resting comfortably and are in isolation and we have already communicated those specific updates with their family members.
  • Waveny Inn: There have been no positive cases for residents or staff at the Inn.

Please continue to reach out to your nursing supervisor for specific medical details on your family member. As stated above, our written communications will continue daily.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with those families who have lost a loved one. The Waveny family will continue to reach out to them to provide support in any way possible.

Our entire team - staff, clinicians, physicians, senior management and our Board of Directors are committed to providing the highest quality and compassionate care. This virus impacts our senior population indiscriminately, but we remain steadfast in our support, preparation, and care for our community's most vulnerable.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we continue to confront the challenges as they unfold.

Sincerely,

Terry Henry

Vice President of Communications
