Comments:

Our deepest sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have died. Sadly, we lost a long-term resident of the Care Center this morning from unknown causes but based on symtomology we have currently accounted for them as COVID-19 related.

We are prayerful that our residents who are currently hospitalized will return to their home at the Village. All of our residents remain in isolation and are cared for in their individual rooms.

Waveny is not accepting any new admissions to the Village until further notice.

The Waveny Care Center remains open for short-term rehab admissions of patients who have not tested positive for COVID-19 at the hospital within the past 24-hours. Any new hospital admission; however, will be placed in isolation given our concern of exposure of the virus in the hospital.

Waveny has been notified by individual staff members that six of our five hundred total employees have tested positive or are presumed positive for the virus. Those employees are all resting comfortably at home and we look forward to their return once they recover.

Waveny LifeCare Network is made up of nearly 500 employees strong and we are thankful for their service to our residents during this health crisis. Our Finance, Accounting, Development, Marketing, and Volunteer staff remain working from home.

Our caregivers risk their own health everyday to protect and care for our over 350 patients and residents. We continue to screen staff every day before they report to work and will send any employee home awaiting test results if they show any symptoms of any illness.

Our testing capabilities remain in effect for any resident or employee who becomes symptomatic.

Please continue to reach out to your nursing supervisor for specific medical details on your family member. We will continue to provide daily written communications during this pandemic.

Our leadership team is in daily contact with local leaders, local hospitals, and other key stakeholders working to stay abreast of the latest information. There is tremendous cooperation being displayed by all parties to keep the health and safety of our Residents, Patients and Caregivers, as well as the general public, our collective top priority.

Thank you for your continued patience, support, thoughts and prayers. Our entire community is most grateful.

Sincerely,

Terry Henry
