Comments:
As the reduction in today’s incidences indicates, we are being diligent in sharing information as inclusively as possible, even for presumed cases that may not necessarily be COVID-19 positive.
Today’s report also supports our early indications that the new incident rate on our residents, patients, and staff may be plateauing, subject to new findings. Whether or not this holds true, we remain just as committed to fighting the spread of this virus. Complacency is not an option, as we see the increased prevalence of the virus both in and outside our community, and its impact on residents, healthcare professionals, and providers alike.
While we are not awaiting test results on any of our patients or residents, it is important to note that test results overall are being further delayed in processing. This means actual positive cases in our communities may be underreported. As a result, we believe it is our responsibility to let you know that the proposed apex of positive case test results within Fairfield County has now been extended another ten days into early May.
We are rigorously committed to protecting our residents, patients, and families. We continue to screen staff every day before they report to work, and will continue to send any employee home to await test results if they show any symptoms of illness.
Our thorough screening capabilities remain in effect for any resident or employee who becomes symptomatic.
Please continue to reach out to your nursing supervisor for specific medical details on your family member. We will continue to provide daily written communications during this pandemic.
Our leadership team remains in daily contact with local leaders, local hospitals, and other key stakeholders working to stay abreast of the latest information. There is tremendous cooperation being displayed by all parties to keep the health and safety of our Residents, Patients and Caregivers, as well as the general public, our collective top priority.
Thank you for your continued patience, support, thoughts and prayers. Our entire community is most grateful. #WavenyStrong
Sincerely,
Terry Henry
