Waveny LifeCare Network COVID-19 Daily Update
for Residents, Patients, and Families
As we celebrate Mother’s Day, most would agree a Mother’s impact on the lives of her children is truly incalculable. Legions of brilliant, courageous, nurturing Moms do more than make humanity possible. Given what’s become an almost dizzying pace of life, in all likelihood many of their daily sacrifices can go unnoticed. Yet they continue to make incredible, indelible impressions on generations to come.
Stepping back and looking our increasingly globally integrated, inter-generational world, it also seems fitting to acknowledge not just our biological Mothers, but indeed all the Mother figures in our lives who played their own special part in transforming us into who we are today.
Often, though we may not have realized it at the time (typically not until years later) - at those most pivotal points in our lives when we really needed them, they were there for us. It may have been that special teacher, stepmother, foster mother, kind and watchful neighbor, or office mom. Some would rightly argue biology could be one of the least important parts of being a Mother.
Whomever you’re celebrating – we’d like to give special recognition to Moms that left their children and families to come into Waveny and work today - either in person, at an appropriate “social distance”, or in memory, our team also honors them and you, for remembering how they inspired you and shaped your life. We truly wish our Patients, Residents, families and staff a blessed Happy Mother’s Day.
Note: Going forward, we will be providing our COVID-19 Update email communications on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to align with similar communications with the New Canaan Town Emergency Management Office. That said, Waveny will update the Daily Statistics on our web page link on a daily basis.

Each day, to the best of our ability, the Waveny team continues to strictly enforce the clinical, operational and regulatory measures that protect our Residents’ and Patients’ well-being and recovery. We are equally appreciative of their families’ need to be in close communication and engagement with us. Please continue to keep each other in your thoughts and prayers, and we will continue to honor our commitment to do our very best to earn your support and understanding.
Your nursing supervisor will have specific medical details on your family member. Please continue to reach out to them on clinical issues, and to me on non-clinical issues or questions.
