Waveny LifeCare Network COVID-19 Daily Update
for Residents, Patients, and Families

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, new information, new testing and treatment protocols, medical regimens, and therapy treatments continue to emerge. The collaboration with our physicians, local hospitals and health authorities is ongoing to minimize risk and maximize the potential for a full and quick recovery.

In fact, data surrounding COVID-19’s epidemiological and clinical characteristics has been growing daily, along with rapidly evolving diagnostic and therapeutic testing guidance and capacities.

As researchers define the virus’ clinical spectrum and asymptomatic spread risk, know that Waveny LifeCare Network is dedicated to taking the most clinically qualified next steps, based on evidence-based best practices to protect our Patients and Residents to mitigate the pandemic’s impact.

As mentioned, with regard to testing protocols, our top priority is monitoring and improving our Patients’ and Residents’ well-being and recovery through advanced, qualified testing regimens.

These include re-swabbing to collect nasopharyngeal specimens from which RNA material is extracted and analyzed (PCR), to serological testing, in which the presence – or absence of antibodies is measured in bloodwork (IgG).  You shall see increased testing and re-testing as we begin measuring our patients’ ability to generate antibodies at rate levels required for each senior to both combat the virus and protect them from future infection. While test rates and rate levels are extremely important to our patients and residents, they are also important to our staff who have been inflicted.

As we continue to deploy these tests across our Patient and Resident base, all interested parties within and in conjunction with Waveny, will have an ever-improving clinical line of sight to promote our clients’ optimal well-being and recovery.

Within the next week for those patients that have tested positive, we will be communicating our clinical plan to further support and hopefully accelerate our patients’ ability to continue their recuperation.
