Waveny LifeCare Network COVID-19 Daily Update
for Residents, Patients, and Families

Thorough, frequent testing of our Patients, Residents and Employees continues to be a core tool Waveny LifeCare Network employs to promote better outcomes, finely adjust individual care planning, and mitigate COVID-19 virus exposure risk.

As part of our arsenal we have leveraged highly collaborative partnerships with Connecticut’s Jackson Laboratory For Genomic Medicine and Stamford Hospital’s Department of Pathology and Lab Research to accelerate and refine our diagnostic and care capabilities.

Under the direction of our Medical Director and in compliance with CDC and Connecticut DPH directives, the tandem use of vigorous nasopharyngeal PCR swab re-testing and targeted IgG antibody testing, and stringent protocols like proper cohorting of Patients and dedicated staff coverage, have substantially increased our community’s conversions of COVID-19 test results from positive to negative, and enhanced individualized care plan effectiveness.

Moreover, in concert with clinical partners, we are relentlessly developing more refined testing protocols, tools and predictive analytics to eradicate our community of the virus, and mitigate exposure risk in anticipation of the reopening of more local economies.

Given our Patients and Residents are of advanced age, and tend to be disproportionately vulnerable to the virus due to comorbidities, we will continue to comprehensively apply resources so we target the right clinical interventions at the right time to protect the health, safety, and wellness of our community and where possible, preempt and exceed CDC and DPH testing and care guidelines

Your nursing supervisor will have specific medical details on your family member. Please continue to reach out to them on clinical issues, and to me on non-clinical issues or questions.
